A celebrant is a trained professional who creates and leads personalised ceremonies for life’s important moments — such as weddings, vow renewals, funerals, memorials and naming ceremonies. Unlike a standard scripted service, a celebrant- led ceremony is written entirely around you and your story.

Further afield? Absolutely. If you’d like to whisk me off to Spain (or anywhere
sunny!), I’m always happy to travel as long as travel and accommodation costs are covered. I’ve always travelled for work, so I’m well practised.

Not yet. At the moment, celebrants in England and Wales can’t legally register
marriages. Most couples choose to complete the legal registration separately before or after their celebrant ceremony.
The good news? There are ongoing discussions about changing this in the future. Watch this space!

A registrar conducts the legal marriage and usually works to a set structure and
script.
A celebrant creates a completely bespoke ceremony with freedom over wording,
content, length, tone and location. In short: the registrar does the paperwork, while
the celebrant creates the meaningful bit everyone remembers.

Absolutely. As an independent celebrant, I can include as much or as little religion as you’d like. Prayers, hymns, readings, blessings and cultural traditions can all be woven into your ceremony, alongside modern or personal touches.
Traditional, contemporary or a mix of both — it’s entirely up to you.

I keep you involved throughout the process, and you’re welcome to review, tweak and approve everything. It’s your ceremony, so changes are always welcome right up until the day. My aim is for it to feel exactly right for you.

For weddings, I’d always recommend booking as early as possible, especially for summer weekends.
Funerals and memorials are usually arranged at shorter notice, and I’ll always do my best to help where I can.
